Bayern Munich won’t sell Michael Olise for any money – Lothar Matthaus shuts down Real Madrid rumours

Bayern Munich legend Lothar Matthäus has dismissed speculation linking Michael Olise with a summer move to Real Madrid, insisting the Bundesliga champions have no intention of selling their prized asset at any price.

Olise has emerged as one of the most influential players in European football since arriving at Bayern Munich in July 2024. The French winger enjoyed a remarkable 2025/26 campaign, finishing the season with 25 goals and 28 assists in 57 appearances across all competitions.

His explosive performances have attracted interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs, with Real Madrid reportedly monitoring his situation during the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Reports also suggested Olise wanted discussions with Bayern’s hierarchy after the tournament to clarify his future.

However, Bayern’s position has remained firm: the club does not want to entertain offers for the 24-year-old and instead plans to build its future around him.

The German giants are reportedly preparing a significant contract improvement for Olise, with plans to increase his annual base salary from €8 million to €14 million as they look to secure his long-term commitment at the Allianz Arena.

‘Bayern won’t even consider negotiating’ – Matthäus

Former Bayern captain Matthäus believes the rumours surrounding Olise’s future do not reflect the reality inside Munich, claiming the club are focused on extending the winger’s stay rather than considering a sale.

“Personally, I can understand someone wanting to play for Real Madrid. But Bayern won’t even consider negotiating. The headlines will only make them laugh.

“I haven’t heard anything sources in Spain or France. But I know what Bayern think about Olise. Bayern Munich isn’t considering selling Olise. They’re actually looking to renew his contract and increase his salary.”

Matthäus’ comments underline Bayern’s determination to avoid losing another key player after previous departures of high-profile stars such as Robert Lewandowski and Jamal Musiala.

While a move to Real Madrid would appeal to many players given the club’s history and global status, Bayern appear unwilling to open the door for Olise’s departure.
