Kruger United unveil 14 signings ahead of historic South African Premiership debut

Kruger United have sent a strong message ahead of their maiden South African Premiership campaign by unveiling 14 new signings in a sweeping squad overhaul designed to boost their chances of survival and long-term success.

Fresh from securing promotion to the country’s top flight, the ambitious Village Boys have strengthened every department of the team with a blend of proven experience and emerging talent as they gear up for life in the South African Premiership.

Leading the list of arrivals is goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari, who joins the club on loan from Kaizer Chiefs for the 2026/27 season. The Rwandan international is expected to bring top-flight experience and stability between the posts as Kruger United prepare for the biggest challenge in their history.

Ntwari will compete for the number one spot with fellow new goalkeeper Sanele Tshabalala, providing the club with increased depth in a crucial position.

Defence, midfield and attack all reinforced

Kruger United have also invested heavily in their backline, bringing in Katlego Mohammed, Sidney Fakude, Kwanda Mngonyama, Thendo Mukumela, Shane Saralina and Sikhosonke Langa to strengthen their defensive options.

The midfield has not been overlooked, with Tatenda Tavengwa and Phathutshedzo Musekwa recruited to add balance, creativity and competition as the newcomers look to cope with the demands of top-flight football.

Further forward, the club have boosted their attacking firepower with the additions of Mlungisi Zwane, Thabang Sibanyoni, Tumelo Mmakgolane and Lwanda Mbanjwa, completing one of the busiest transfer windows among South African Premiership clubs.

The extensive recruitment drive reflects Kruger United’s determination to build a squad capable of competing immediately after earning promotion, rather than simply making up the numbers in their debut top-flight season.

Mbombela Stadium to host historic campaign

Off the pitch, Kruger United have also secured a major milestone by confirming a three-year agreement with the City of Mbombela to use Mbombela Stadium as their home ground.

The deal ensures the newly promoted side will play their historic first Premiership campaign at one of South Africa’s established football venues, while also becoming an anchor tenant for the duration of the agreement.

Kruger United will share the stadium with fellow Premiership outfit TS Galaxy and the Pumas Rugby team, giving the club a stable base as they prepare for life among South Africa’s elite.

With 14 new faces added to the squad and a long-term home secured, Kruger United have laid the foundations for what they hope will be a successful first chapter in the South African Premiership.
