Braydon Manu: Ghanaian-German winger linked with Nea Salamis move from free agency
Ghanaian-German winger Braydon Manu, currently without a club after leaving Cypriot side Akritas Chlorakas, is being linked with a move to Cyprus League outfit Nea Salamis.
Manu, 29, became a free agent on 1 July 2026 following the end of his stint with Akritas, opening the door for clubs to negotiate a deal without a transfer fee. Nea Salamis are understood to be exploring an opportunity to bring in the versatile left winger as they look to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new campaign.
The former Darmstadt 98 wide player is valued at around €275,000, a figure that reflects his recent trajectory after spells in Germany, the Netherlands and Cyprus. He moved to Akritas Chlorakas in January 2026 on a free transfer from Dutch club PEC Zwolle, having previously spent time on loan at VfL Osnabruck from Darmstadt.
Manu has experience in the Bundesliga, 2. Bundesliga and 3. Liga, as well as a brief spell in the Eredivisie with Zwolle. His most productive period came in Germany’s second tier, where he recorded 11 goals and 12 assists in 56 appearances. In Cyprus last season he featured 13 times, scoring once and providing three assists.
Born in Itzehoe and comfortable on either foot, Manu has also collected silverware at regional level, winning the Saxony-Anhalt Cup with Hallescher FC in 2018-19.
With Manu unattached and open to offers, Nea Salamis are weighing up whether to advance their interest, with any agreement likely to hinge on personal terms rather than a transfer fee.
