Burkinabè defender Nassim Innocenti has officially embarked on a new chapter of his career, signing up with FC Kosice in the top tier of Slovak football, the Corgoň Liga.
This move follows Innocenti’s prolonged absence from the field, enduring nearly a year of hiatus due to a debilitating injury suffered in March 2023.
The talented 21-year-old had last plied his trade for Valenciennes in the French Ligue 2 before the unfortunate setback. Opting for a fresh start in Central Europe, Innocenti has chosen the Slovak Corgoň Liga as the stage for his comeback journey.
The formalities were completed on Friday, February 2, 2024, as Nassim Innocenti put pen to paper, officially becoming a part of FC Kosice.
The Burkinabè defender is set to grace the pitch for his new club under a one-and-a-half-year contract. This pivotal move signifies the conclusion of his tenure with Valenciennes, marred by the significant cruciate ligament injury.
Currently positioned at the 10th spot out of 12 teams in the Slovak championship, FC Kosice appears to be banking on the prowess of their latest acquisition to aid them in climbing out of the challenging red zone.
As Innocenti resumes his professional journey, football enthusiasts eagerly anticipate witnessing the impact of his skills and resilience on FC Kosice’s fortunes in the Corgoň Liga.”
