RB Leipzig prepare pay rise to keep Yan Diomande

RB Leipzig are stepping up their efforts to keep Yan Diomande by preparing an improved contract for the Ivorian winger, designed to reward his breakout season and fend off growing interest from Europe’s elite.

The new deal would raise his salary if he stays for the 2026/27 campaign, reflecting his emergence as one of the Bundesliga’s most exciting young attackers.

Diomande joined Leipzig on 16 July 2025, signing a five-year contract to 2030 after the club activated his 20 million euro release clause at CD Leganes. He quickly justified that investment, delivering 13 goals and 10 assists in 36 appearances across all competitions last season. His versatility on the left flank and ability to influence matches in the final third have made him a prime target for top clubs.

In January 2026, reports linked him with a high-profile move to Manchester United as the Premier League side looked to refresh their attack. Leipzig’s hierarchy, however, remain determined to keep him and view the pay rise as both a reward and a clear statement of intent.
