Said Chiba part ways with FUS Rabat

Moroccan top-flight side Fath Union Sport (FUS) Rabat have officially decided to part ways with head coach Said Chiba and his entire technical staff ahead of the 2026/27 season, bringing an end to his two-year spell in charge of the club.

The decision comes as FUS Rabat prepare for a new chapter, with the club’s hierarchy opting to make a change on the bench before the start of pre-season preparations.

According to reports, the club’s management and Chiba reached an amicable agreement to terminate the coach’s contract by mutual consent. The agreement was finalized during a meeting held on Wednesday, allowing both parties to end their working relationship without the need for legal action or contractual disputes.

The separation also extends to Chiba’s assistant coaches, with the entire technical staff leaving the club as part of FUS Rabat’s plans to restructure ahead of the new campaign.

The club are believed to have decided that a fresh technical direction is needed as they seek to build a competitive squad capable of achieving greater success in the upcoming Botola Pro season.

Chiba was appointed FUS Rabat head coach two years ago following the departure of Jamal Sellami, who left the Moroccan club to take over as head coach of the Jordan national team. During his tenure, the former Morocco youth coach was tasked with guiding the club through a rebuilding phase while developing a competitive team.

Although Chiba oversaw the team for two seasons, his spell has now come to an end despite still having one year remaining on his contract. The club’s decision means his deal has been terminated a year before its scheduled expiration.

The mutual nature of the agreement is expected to ensure a smooth transition as both the coach and the club move forward without any legal complications.

FUS Rabat are now expected to intensify their search for a new head coach, with an announcement anticipated in the coming days as preparations for the 2026/27 season gather momentum.

The incoming manager will inherit a squad looking to challenge more consistently in the Botola Pro and improve on the club’s recent performances. The new coach will also be responsible for shaping the team’s transfer strategy and overseeing pre-season preparations.

For Chiba, the departure marks the end of another chapter in his coaching career after leading one of Morocco’s historic clubs. The former Atlas Lions youth team coach remains highly regarded within Moroccan football and is expected to attract interest from other clubs and national teams seeking an experienced tactician.

As FUS Rabat turn their attention to appointing a successor, supporters will be eager to see who the club entrusts with leading the team into the new season and whether the managerial change can spark improved performances in the months ahead.
