Bryan Mbeumo scores stunning goal as Manchester United share spoils with Everton

Cameroon international Bryan Mbeumo scored a spectacular goal for Manchester United as the Red Devils shared the spoils with Everton in an entertaining 2-2 draw in the English Premier League at Goodison Park on Sunday.

Mbeumo, who joined Manchester United last summer, put the visitors ahead just after the restart, scoring in the 46th minute with a stunning effort from distance.

The strike was Mbeumo’s second Premier League goal of the season and another indication of his growing influence since arriving at Old Trafford.

Everton, however, refused to surrender and continued to push for an equaliser as they looked to make home advantage count.

Their persistence eventually paid off in the 83rd minute when English-Ghanaian international Tyrique George found the back of the net to restore parity and bring Goodison Park back to life.

Manchester United responded almost immediately and regained the lead five minutes later.

Benjamin Sesko struck in the 88th minute to put the visitors 2-1 ahead and leave United seemingly on course to claim all three points from a difficult away fixture.

However, Everton produced a dramatic late response.

Deep into stoppage time, Ainsley Maitland-Niles scored the equaliser to rescue a point for the home side and deny Manchester United what would have been a hard-fought victory.

The late goal ensured the two teams shared the spoils after a thrilling encounter that saw the lead change hands late in the game.

For Manchester United, the result will feel like two points dropped after taking the lead twice, particularly after Sesko’s late strike appeared to have secured victory.

For Mbeumo, however, the afternoon provided plenty of positives as he continues to establish himself as an important attacking option for the Red Devils.

His ability to cut inside from the wing and threaten goal from distance was once again on display, with his stunning finish giving United the platform to take control of the match.

The Cameroon international will also take confidence from finally scoring against Everton in the Premier League.

According to Opta statistics, the goal came after Mbeumo had previously attempted 21 shots against Everton without finding the net.

Despite Manchester United’s disappointment at conceding so late, Mbeumo’s performance offers encouragement as he continues to settle into life at Old Trafford.

The 2-2 draw leaves both sides with a point from an entertaining Premier League encounter, while Mbeumo can take personal satisfaction from another strong performance and his second league goal of the season.
