Mohamed Maslouq: supporting Algerian representatives in continental competitions is our duty

Mohamed Maslouq, the official in charge of managing the Professional League, responded to voices calling for a reconsideration of the postponed matches concerning the continental participating clubs, namely JS Kabylie and USM Alger.

Maslouq clarified that the league has largely fulfilled its duties, considering that it respected the schedules even under exceptional circumstances, such as the temporary suspension of the championship in solidarity with the Palestinian people and the tragic incident involving the Mouloudia El Bayadh team.

In statements made during a radio interview on Friday, he stated, “We tried as much as possible… the success of the championship is linked to scheduling.

I heard the interveners (referring to Khazrouni), it is true that having a well-organized program contributes to the success of the championship.

The return phase will be more meticulous.”

Before concluding his remarks, the spokesperson emphasized, “But it is the duty of every football federation to support the teams participating in continental competitions… these clubs represent Algerian football, and we must be a support for them because it involves the national flag.”

Maslouq concluded, “I want to confirm that the management of the first half of the season was generally good.

Thanks to the club presidents, not just the league, because they contributed to this success, and there was a positive response from them after we explained the situation.”
