Rahim Alhassane: Bologna eye move for Real Oviedo left-back

Rahim Alhassane, the Niger-born Spain-based left-back currently at Real Oviedo, is being linked with a move to Serie A side Bologna. The 24-year-old defender, who holds both Nigerien and Spanish nationality, has emerged as a potential target for the Italian club as they look to strengthen the left side of their defence.

Alhassane is under contract at Oviedo until 30 June 2028, a situation that would likely require Bologna to negotiate a fee rather than explore a low-cost exit. He is currently valued at around €1.5 million, a figure that provides a reference point for any talks but does not necessarily reflect Oviedo’s asking price for a key defensive asset.

The full-back joined Oviedo in July 2024 from Recreativo Huelva in a €300,000 deal and has since built a solid body of experience in Spanish football. He has featured regularly across the professional tiers, including 27 appearances in La Liga and 25 in LaLiga2, as well as outings in the Copa del Rey and promotion play-offs.

Born in Abuja on 1 January 2002 and standing at 1.84m, Alhassane operates primarily as a left-back and is naturally left-footed, attributes that fit Bologna’s search for specialist depth in that position. His rise has been steady rather than sudden, progressing through the Spanish system before establishing himself at Oviedo.

For now, Alhassane remains an Oviedo player with two years gone on a long-term deal and no agreement in place, leaving Bologna to decide whether to firm up their interest in the coming weeks.
