Fulham tie down Cameroon rising star Macaulay Zepa with first professional contract
Fulham have secured the future of one of their brightest academy prospects after promising youngster Macaulay Zepa signed his first professional contract with the club.
The 18-year-old winger has been rewarded for a rapid rise since arriving at Craven Cottage in 2024, having impressed with his performances across Fulham’s youth setup.
Zepa joined the Cottagers as a scholar and wasted little time making his mark, producing an outstanding first season that highlighted his attacking potential.
The teenager registered 14 goal contributions in 24 appearances for Fulham’s Under-18 side in the U18 Premier League, establishing himself as one of the standout performers in the academy.
Zepa’s rapid rise through Fulham ranks
His consistent displays earned him a step up to the Under-21 team, where he became a regular feature during the 2025/26 campaign.
Despite competing against older players, Zepa made 28 appearances for the Under-21s while operating in a variety of positions, showcasing his adaptability and tactical intelligence.
He also continued to contribute at Under-18 level, making four additional appearances as Fulham managed his development across different age groups.
The club’s decision to hand him his first professional deal reflects the confidence placed in his ability to progress further and eventually challenge for a place in the senior squad.
International recognition follows breakthrough season
Zepa’s impressive form at club level also attracted attention internationally, with the youngster receiving his first call-up to the Cameroon Under-23 national team in March.
The teenager joined the squad for a training camp in Spain, gaining valuable experience in an international environment as he continues his development.
Now officially a professional footballer, Zepa is focused on building on his progress and taking the next steps in his Fulham career.
“It feels really good to be a professional footballer at this Club,” he told Fulham’s official website.
“I’m just ready to work hard now. I want to keep kicking on with the 21s this season, and hopefully get my chance with the First Team.”
