Morocco’s Hamza Khabba returns to Kuwait with Al-Qadsia after AS FAR exit
Kuwaiti side Al-Qadsia have completed the signing of Moroccan striker Hamza Khabba from AS FAR, bringing the 30-year-old back to the Kuwait Premier League ahead of the new season.
The club confirmed the permanent transfer on Sunday as it looks to strengthen its attacking options following a third-place finish in the 2025-26 league campaign.
“Qadsia Club has signed Moroccan striker Hamza Khaba to represent the first-team football squad,” the club wrote on X.
Second spell in Kuwaiti football
The move marks Khabba’s return to Kuwaiti football after spending the 2024-25 season with Al-Arabi SC before rejoining Morocco’s AS FAR last summer.
His second spell in Morocco lasted just one season, with Al-Qadsia moving quickly to secure his services during the current transfer window.
Khabba made 22 Botola Pro appearances for the Rabat-based club, scoring two goals and providing one assist while offering depth in AS FAR’s attacking unit.
Proven scorer in Kuwait
Despite a relatively modest return with AS FAR, Khabba has already shown his quality in the Kuwait Premier League.
During his previous spell with Al-Arabi, the Moroccan established himself as one of the league’s most effective forwards, scoring 12 goals in just eight league appearances.
Those performances made him one of the competition’s standout attacking players and convinced Al-Qadsia to bring him back to Kuwait.
Boost for Al-Qadsia’s ambitions
Al-Qadsia will hope Khabba’s experience and goalscoring pedigree can strengthen their push for honours after narrowly missing out on second place last season.
The club finished third in the Championship Group on 39 points, level with rivals Al-Arabi but behind them on goal difference, while Al-Kuwait SC went on to secure the league title.
Khabba’s arrival gives Al-Qadsia an experienced Moroccan forward with proven success in Kuwaiti football as they prepare for the 2026-27 campaign.
