Mohamed Salah keen to continue career in Europe despite MLS interest

Mohamed Salah is attracting interest from Sporting Kansas City, but the former Liverpool star still appears more likely to stay in Europe than move to Major League Soccer.

The Athletic reports that Sporting KC are part of the chase, yet the odds of prising him away from the bigger-money offers in Saudi Arabia remain slim.

Salah is now a free agent after his Liverpool deal was ended early, closing a remarkable run that produced 257 goals and 123 assists in 442 competitive matches. He joined the Premier League club from Roma in 2017 and spent years as one of their most decisive players before the separation this summer.

The report says Salah would prefer to continue in Europe, though MLS is still an option if he decides against the Saudi route. Sporting KC may have one advantage: club majority owner Peter Mallouk has Egyptian roots, which could help make the move feel more personal. Even so, the financial gap is significant, and Saudi Pro League clubs are pushing hard to win the race.
