Goodness Ajayi: Nigerian winger joins NK Jarun on free transfer from Opatija
Nigerian winger Goodness Ajayi has joined Croatian side NK Jarun on a free transfer from NK Opatija, signing a deal that runs until 30 June 2027.
The 31-year-old left winger, who prefers to operate from the left flank on his right foot, makes the switch after four years in Croatian football since returning to the country in 2022. Ajayi had moved to Opatija in August 2022 following a spell with NK Rudes.
Born in Benin City and standing at 1.76m, Ajayi brings substantial experience across several European and Middle Eastern leagues. He has previously played in the Croatian top flight with Inter Zapresic and title-winning HNK Rijeka, as well as featuring in Romania, Kuwait, Oman, Israel and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Ajayi enjoyed particular success with Siroki Brijeg in Bosnias Premijer Liga, where his goalscoring form helped establish him as an effective wide attacker. Across his career he has also appeared in Europa League and Champions League qualifying rounds, adding continental experience to Jaruns squad.
In Croatia, Ajayis record includes more than 50 appearances and contributions in goals and assists in the second tier, alongside further games and goals in the SuperSport HNL and domestic cup competitions. His current market valuation stands at 175,000.
Ajayis most notable honours came with Rijeka, where he was part of the squad that won the Croatian league title in 2016-17 and lifted the Croatian Cup in both 2013-14 and 2016-17.
The move sees Ajayi commit to NK Jarun on a free transfer from NK Opatija until the end of the 2026-27 season.
