Peter Shalulile bids emotional farewell to Mamelodi Sundowns ahead of new chapter

Namibia international striker Peter Shalulile has officially bid farewell to Mamelodi Sundowns after a successful spell with the Pretoria giants, expressing his gratitude to the club’s supporters, leadership and everyone who contributed to his journey at Chloorkop.

The prolific forward, who became one of Sundowns’ most important attacking figures since joining the club, thanked the famous “Amasandawana” faithful for their unwavering support and the energy they provided throughout his time wearing the yellow jersey.

“Thank you to the supporters, Amasandawana, The Yellow Nation. You kept singing and gave us energy. Without you, it would have been tough on the pitch,” Shalulile said.

The Namibian striker also paid tribute to the club’s chairman and those who played a role in bringing him to Sundowns, acknowledging the impact the club has had on his career.

“I’d also like to thank the chairman for everything since he took over, and everyone who brought me to this club. From the bottom of my heart, thank you,” he added.

Shalulile revealed that he had discussed his future with his representative and believes the time has come for him to seek a new challenge away from the reigning South African champions.

“I told my agent that the best thing for me was to ask the club and the president to give me the opportunity to showcase my talent somewhere else,” he explained.

During his time at Mamelodi Sundowns, Shalulile established himself as one of the leading strikers in African football, playing a key role in the club’s domestic dominance and continental ambitions.

His goals, movement and work rate made him a fan favourite and a constant threat to opposition defences.

The 31-year-old’s next destination remains undecided, with his future expected to be confirmed soon as clubs continue to monitor his availability.

Shalulile leaves Sundowns with a strong legacy, having played a major part in one of the most successful periods in the club’s history.
