Fiacre Ntwari on the radar of Kruger United

South African Premiership newcomers Kruger United have reportedly identified Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari as a potential signing ahead of their historic debut season in South Africa’s top flight.

The newly promoted side are looking to strengthen their squad with experienced players capable of helping them compete at the highest level, and the Rwanda international has emerged as a key target as they seek to add quality between the sticks.

Ntwari has endured a difficult spell at Kaizer Chiefs since joining the club, with regular playing time proving hard to come by. The talented goalkeeper has often found himself on the bench or outside the matchday squad, limiting his opportunities to establish himself as the club’s first-choice option.

His struggles were further compounded towards the end of the season when he spent more time in the club’s medical room than on the pitch after suffering a shoulder injury, disrupting his chances of fighting for a place in the team.

Despite his limited involvement at Chiefs, Ntwari remains highly rated due to his ability and international experience. The former TS Galaxy goalkeeper has represented Rwanda at national level and is regarded as a shot-stopper with the qualities to become a regular starter at club level.

Kruger United believe a loan move could provide the perfect opportunity for Ntwari to revive his career by playing consistent football and regaining confidence. The club is keen to make a strong impression in their first-ever Betway Premiership campaign and views the experienced goalkeeper as someone who can provide stability and leadership.

However, Ntwari’s time at Kaizer Chiefs has been surrounded by challenges, with reports suggesting there were disagreements between the goalkeeper and members of the technical team over his role at the club.

An incident during last season’s Carling Knockout Cup match in Cape Town added to the tension when Ntwari reportedly refused to leave the field after being substituted, creating further uncertainty around his future at Naturena.

With competition for places at Chiefs remaining intense, a temporary move away from the club could benefit all parties involved. Kruger United would gain the services of an experienced international goalkeeper, while Ntwari would have the chance to secure regular minutes and rebuild his reputation.

The coming weeks will determine whether the two clubs can reach an agreement, but a loan switch to Kruger United could offer Fiacre Ntwari the fresh start he needs to reignite his career.
