Al Ahly unveil Hussein Ammouta’s technical team ahead of new season
Al Ahly have officially unveiled the technical team that will work alongside new head coach Hussein Ammouta as the Egyptian giants begin preparations for the upcoming season.
The Red Castle announced the composition of Ammouta’s backroom staff during a press conference held at the club’s headquarters in Gezira, where the Moroccan coach was presented to the media for the first time following his appointment.
Ammouta, who takes over the leadership of Al Ahly’s first football team, has chosen a team of experienced assistants to support him in his new challenge as the club aims to continue competing for major trophies at both domestic and continental levels.
The technical staff will include Hisham Zahed, who joins as a coach, while former Egyptian international Yasser Radwan has been appointed as assistant coach.
Joey Potvers will take charge of the goalkeepers as the new goalkeeping coach, working on improving the performance and preparation of Al Ahly’s shot-stoppers.
Besides, Renato Boscrioli has also been named as the team’s load planner, with responsibility for monitoring the players’ physical condition and ensuring they are prepared for the demands of the season.
In addition, a performance analyst is expected to arrive in Cairo in the coming days to complete Ammouta’s technical team and provide support through match analysis and performance evaluation.
The announcement of the new technical structure is part of Al Ahly’s preparations for a new era under Ammouta, who has been tasked with guiding the club through a challenging campaign.
During his unveiling, the Moroccan coach expressed his desire to let his work on the pitch speak for itself, saying: “I don’t like media appearances… I will speak through victories and titles.”
With the technical team now in place, attention will turn to preparations for the new season as Ammouta begins work on building a squad capable of achieving Al Ahly’s ambitious targets.
