Fenerbahce continue pursuit of Egypt star Mohamed Salah after Liverpool exit
Egyptian giants Mohamed Salah continues to attract major interest following his departure from Liverpool, with Turkish giants Fenerbahçe SK reportedly preparing a potential move for the experienced attacker.
Salah officially became a free agent at the end of the 2025/26 season after bringing an end to a legendary nine-year spell at Anfield, where he established himself as one of the greatest players in Liverpool’s modern history.
Despite his availability on the market, the Egyptian captain has not yet made a final decision regarding the next step in his career. His immediate focus remains on the Egypt national football team and their campaign at the FIFA World Cup 2026, where he has played a leading role in guiding the Pharaohs to the Round of 16 in what has been described as a historic achievement for the nation.
According to reports, Fenerbahce are closely monitoring Salah’s situation and remain interested in bringing the Egyptian forward to Istanbul as part of their ambitious summer recruitment strategy.
The Turkish club has already strengthened its squad with the additions of players including Vedat Muriqi and Nathan Aké, but reports suggest the club’s leadership still views Salah as a dream signing capable of transforming the team both on and off the pitch.
Fenerbahce are willing to offer Salah an annual salary of around €12 million. However, the Egyptian star is believed to be seeking wages closer to €25 million per year, creating a significant gap between the two parties at this stage.
Despite that difference, the Turkish side reportedly believes circumstances could change after the World Cup. Club officials are said to hope that if Salah does not receive the offers he expects from Europe, Saudi Arabia, or Major League Soccer, his financial demands may become more flexible.
For that reason, Fenerbahce are expected to remain patient while continuing to monitor developments surrounding the player’s future.
Since leaving Liverpool, Salah has been linked with several possible destinations. Clubs from Saudi Arabia and the United States are believed to be interested in signing the forward, while multiple European sides are also keeping track of his situation.
Even at this stage of his career, Salah remains one of the most marketable and productive attacking players in world football. His experience, consistency, leadership, and goal-scoring record make him an attractive option for clubs seeking immediate impact and global recognition.
For now, however, Salah’s full attention appears to remain on Egypt’s World Cup journey. The Egyptian captain has delivered influential performances throughout the tournament and continues to pursue further history with the Pharaohs.
As speculation over his future intensifies, the coming weeks after the World Cup are expected to be decisive in determining where Mohamed Salah will continue his career following the end of his unforgettable era at Liverpool FC.
