Augusto Owusu: Catanzaro eye move for Juve Next Gens Italy-Ghana midfielder

Italy-Ghana central midfielder Augusto Owusu of Juve Next Gen is being linked with a summer move to Serie B side Catanzaro.

The 21-year-old, who was born in Turin and stands at 1.89m, is currently contracted to Juventus second team in Serie C Girone A, but his contractual situation is unclear, with no expiry date listed and the possibility he could become a free agent if no new deal is agreed. His market value is currently listed at 600,000, a figure likely to frame any negotiations between the clubs or, in the event of a contract lapse, shape interest from other suitors.

Owusu, a right-footed central midfielder who can operate in the heart of the pitch, stepped up from Juventus Primavera to Juve Next Gen on 1 July 2024 after a series of internal moves through the clubs academy structure. He previously spent the 2022-23 season on loan at Reggiana Primavera from Juventus Under-17 before returning to Turin, having first joined the Juventus youth set-up in 2012.

The rumour, dated 3 July 2026, links Juve Next Gen, who play in Serie C, with Catanzaro, established in Serie B, but the probability of a deal is currently listed as ? and there is no indication that talks are at an advanced stage. Any switch would represent Owusus first move away from the Juventus system.

Owusu, who holds both Italian and Ghanaian nationality, has seen his estimated value fluctuate in recent seasons, rising from 50,000 with Juventus Primavera in June 2024 to a peak of 800,000 in December 2024 before settling at 600,000 in June 2026.

If Catanzaro firm up their interest and a transfer or free-agent move materialises, it would offer the tall midfielder his first sustained opportunity in Serie B and a significant test of his development beyond the Juventus pathway.
