Morocco defender Achraf Dari unwilling to waive financial entitlements amid Al Ahly exit talks
Moroccan defender Achraf Dari is reportedly refusing to give up any of his financial entitlements as uncertainty continues to surround his future at Al Ahly during the ongoing summer transfer window.
The 27-year-old centre-back has become one of the major talking points within the club following reports linking him with a possible departure ahead of the new season. Although no final decision has been made regarding his future, discussions are ongoing inside the Red Castle over whether the player should remain part of the squad or leave permanently.
According to reports, Dari has clearly informed Al Ahly officials that he will not agree to waive any portion of his contract should both parties decide to terminate their agreement by mutual consent.
The Moroccan international is reportedly insisting on receiving the full financial value of his deal before considering an exit from the Cairo-based giants, a stance that could complicate negotiations if the club eventually decides to part ways with the defender.
Dari recently returned after spending time away from the club and is now awaiting clarity over his position under the new technical setup. Despite growing speculation regarding his future, Al Ahly’s management is still studying all available options before making a final decision.
Club officials are also expected to consult newly appointed head coach Hussein Ammouta before determining the next step concerning the defender. Ammouta’s technical assessment is likely to play a key role in deciding whether Dari remains with the squad for next season or is allowed to leave if a suitable offer arrives.
While the uncertainty continues, Al Ahly have instructed the defender to report for pre-season preparations and continue training normally with the rest of the team. The club wants the player to remain fully committed until his situation is officially resolved.
Dari’s contractual position now places additional pressure on the club’s management as they attempt to balance their technical plans with financial considerations during a busy transfer window. With the new season approaching, a final decision regarding the Moroccan defender is expected in the coming weeks.
