Moroccan Hussein Amouta, the Jordanian national coach, expressed his sadness at the elimination of Arab teams from the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) “Cote d’Ivoire 2023” competition.
During the press conference preceding the Asian Cup quarter-final clash between Jordan and Tajikistan today, Thursday, the captain of “Al-Nashama” explained that the exit of Arab teams from the African Cup is concerning.
Amouta also expressed his sorrow at the departure of several Arab teams from the Asian Cup.
Amouta emphasized that the match against Tajikistan today requires mental presence, seriousness, and focus.
Regarding the opponent team, Amouta said, “I believe that a team that reaches the quarter-finals undoubtedly is an advanced team with many strengths.
We need to pay attention to some details during the match.”
The national coach pointed out that he is aware of Tajikistan’s strength, adding that they previously caused trouble for Jordan two months ago in the World Cup qualifiers.
“We are ready for the confrontation, our spirits are high, and we have some injuries that are not a cause for concern.
We will overcome them in the hours leading up to the match,” he continued.
It is worth noting that Hussein Amouta received accolades after the victory of the Jordanian national team against Iraq in the round of 16 of the AFC Asian Cup.
