Liam Rosenior set for Paris FC job as Antoine Kombouare exit nears

English coach Liam Rosenior is on the verge of becoming the new head coach of Paris FC, with reports in France claiming the club have chosen him to replace Antoine Kombouare.

According to RMC Sport, Rosenior is poised for a swift return to French football after his brief spell back in England. The former RC Strasbourg Alsace manager, who left Chelsea in April, has emerged as Paris FC’s preferred candidate after negotiations with Kombouare reached a dead end.

Contract talks collapse

Kombouare only took charge of Paris FC at the end of February and guided the club to a comfortable mid-table finish. Despite recently declaring he was “ready to resume training” this week, his future has rapidly unravelled.

RMC Sport journalist Daniel Riolo revealed that financial disagreements ultimately derailed talks between the two parties.

“Of course, Paris FC has resources, but they don’t seem willing to agree to everything, especially Antoine Kombouare’s demands for more money. The talks have dragged on to the point that the management has grown tired, and it’s over.”

Riolo also disclosed that Walid Regragui was considered during the search before the club settled on Rosenior.

“There were also discussions with Walid Regragui. There were two or three meetings, but apparently Rosenior is the one they’ve chosen.”

Arrival expected soon

French outlet L’Equipe reports that Paris FC have postponed the start of pre-season training until July 9 to allow time for Rosenior’s appointment to be completed.

The delay is widely viewed as the clearest indication yet that the club are finalising the managerial transition.

Should the move be confirmed, Rosenior will return to Ligue 1 with the task of building on Paris FC’s recent progress and leading the ambitious club into a new era under his guidance.
