Miguel Reisinho set for Mamelodi Sundowns exit

Portuguese international Miguel Reisinho is reportedly on his way out of Mamelodi Sundowns after struggling to establish himself since arriving at the South African Premiership champions.

The midfielder joined the Chloorkop-based side at the start of the previous campaign with high expectations, arriving alongside compatriot Nuno Santos from Boavista in Portugal. While Santos has managed to settle and make an impact, Reisinho has found opportunities hard to come by.

As a result, it has now emerged that the 26-year-old is expected to leave Miguel Cardoso’s squad, with his future at the club appearing increasingly uncertain.

Reisinho is understood to be unwilling to join another PSL side, despite Sundowns exploring the possibility of sending him out on loan to ensure he gains regular playing time. Instead, the midfielder is reportedly open to running down his situation and leaving as a free agent.

Sundowns’ management had considered a local loan move as a way to help the player rebuild form and confidence, but that option has been turned down by the player, further complicating discussions around his next step.

Having featured sparingly this season, Reisinho’s lack of consistent minutes has also affected his market value, making it more challenging for potential suitors to assess his current level.

With his departure now looking increasingly likely, the midfielder’s next destination remains unclear, and it is yet to be seen whether interest will come from abroad or if a resolution will be reached before the situation drifts into a free exit.
