World Cup 2026: AC Horsens rally behind Pierre Bazie and Ghana ahead of Panama clash

Danish club AC Horsens have thrown their support behind assistant coach Pierre Bazie and the Ghana national team as the Black Stars prepare for their opening match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup against Panama.

The club expressed pride after Bazie joined Ghana’s technical team for the tournament, where he is working alongside head coach Carlos Queiroz and his backroom staff.

In a message shared on social media before Ghana’s Group L opener, AC Horsens highlighted Bazie’s role within the Black Stars setup and celebrated his involvement on football’s biggest stage.

“We are also represented at the World Cup,” the club wrote.

“Our talented assistant coach Pierre Bazie has joined Ghana’s national team during the World Cup and will be helping national coach Carlos Queiroz with opponent analysis.”

Bazie has become an important member of Ghana’s technical staff, focusing on tactical preparation and opposition scouting as the four-time African champions target a place in the knockout stages.

The Black Stars face a challenging group featuring Panama, England and Croatia, with every point expected to be crucial in the race for qualification.

AC Horsens also pointed to some of the exciting talent within Ghana’s squad, including Premier League forward Antoine Semenyo, Southampton winger Kamaldeen Sulemana and Athletic Bilbao attacker Inaki Williams.

The Danish club did not hide its excitement at seeing one of its coaches involved at the World Cup and offered a heartfelt message of support ahead of the tournament.

“We’re mega proud that you’ve made it to the World Cup, Pierre, and we’re rooting for you and Ghana.”

Bazie’s involvement is another example of the growing international recognition of his coaching abilities. His analytical expertise has earned the trust of Queiroz, who brought him into the setup as Ghana seek to make an impact in North America.

For Ghana, the opening match against Panama is viewed as a crucial fixture. With England and Croatia expected to be among the strongest teams in Group L, victory would provide a major boost to the Black Stars’ hopes of reaching the Round of 32.

The tournament also marks Ghana’s fifth appearance at a FIFA World Cup. The Black Stars famously reached the quarter-finals in South Africa in 2010 and are aiming to make another deep run under the experienced leadership of Queiroz.

As Ghana continue their preparations in North America, Bazie will be playing a key role behind the scenes, helping the technical team analyze opponents and develop strategies for each group-stage challenge.

And back in Denmark, everyone at AC Horsens will be watching closely, hoping to see both their assistant coach and the Black Stars enjoy a successful World Cup campaign.
