Bradley Grobler on the radar of Stellenbosch FC

South African Premiership side Stellenbosch FC are reportedly considering a move for experienced striker Bradley Grobler as they seek to bolster their attacking options ahead of the new season.

Grobler is currently a free agent after parting ways with Sekhukhune United following a difficult second half of the previous campaign, during which he struggled to maintain the form that had previously made him one of the most feared forwards in South African football.

Despite his recent challenges, the veteran striker remains one of the most prolific goalscorers in Premier Soccer League history. With 128 career league goals, Grobler sits third on the all-time PSL scoring charts, trailing only Peter Shalulile, who has 133 goals, and Siyabonga Nomvethe, who scored 129 times during his distinguished career.

A potential move to Stellenbosch could see Grobler reunite with coach Gavin Hunt, a manager who played a significant role in some of the striker’s most successful years. The pair enjoyed a productive working relationship at SuperSport United, where Grobler established himself as one of the league’s leading marksmen and consistently delivered goals under Hunt’s guidance.

Their previous success together has fuelled speculation that another reunion could be on the horizon, with Hunt believed to be a long-time admirer of the striker’s qualities and experience.

For Stellenbosch, signing a player of Grobler’s pedigree would add proven firepower and valuable leadership to the squad. While age may no longer be on his side, his wealth of experience and eye for goal could prove invaluable for a team aiming to remain competitive both domestically and on the continental stage.

As a free agent, Grobler represents an attractive market opportunity, and discussions over a possible switch to the Cape Winelands club are expected to attract significant interest in the coming weeks.

Should the move materialise, it would offer the veteran forward a fresh opportunity to revive his career while continuing his pursuit of further goals and a higher place in the PSL’s all-time scoring rankings.
