Jacques Siwe: Angers eye move for France-Cameroon striker from Rubin Kazan

France-Cameroon centre-forward Jacques Siwe is being linked with a move from Russian Premier Liga side Rubin Kazan to Ligue 1 club Angers SCO.

The 24-year-old, who has a listed market value of €2.50m, is the subject of growing speculation in France, with Angers reportedly exploring a deal to bring him back to his birth country. The probability of the transfer remains unclear, with the move currently rated as “?” and no agreement yet in place between the clubs.

Siwe, born in Saint-Maurice on 29 July 2001, stands at 1.86m and operates primarily as a central striker, favouring his right foot. He holds both French and Cameroonian nationality and is viewed as a physically strong forward capable of leading the line in a top European league.

Details around his contractual situation in Russia have not been disclosed, with no public end date on his Rubin Kazan deal. That uncertainty has fuelled talk that Angers could try to exploit a potential opening this summer, with scenarios ranging from a low-fee move to the forward eventually becoming a free agent if his contract situation allows.

Siwe has been involved in Rubin Kazan’s recent Premier Liga campaign and featured in their latest outing, a tight league match earlier this month in Russia. In that game, Rubin faced domestic opposition in a closely contested fixture, with Siwe leading the attack, contributing with his movement and link-up play as the side battled through a narrow scoreline over 90 minutes.

Angers, planning for the long term in Ligue 1, are thought to see Siwe’s age profile and market value as an attractive combination. If a deal can be struck, the move to western France could prove a pivotal step in shaping his career trajectory and enhancing his reputation in one of Europe’s major leagues.
