Séwé Sport de San Pedro got off to a positive start in the new football season in Ivory Coast by winning the National Super Cup on Saturday. The two-time reigning Ligue 1 champion secured a 1-0 victory against ASEC, with Hermann Koua scoring the only goal of the game in the 37th minute from a cross by Kouadio N’goran. This win marks the third time Séwé has claimed the Ivory Coast Super Cup, adding to their previous victories in 2006 and 2012. The football season in Ivory Coast officially began on October 5.
