Ivorian striker Elye Wahi attracting renewed interest across Europe
Ivorian striker Elye Wahi is once again attracting transfer attention across Europe after reviving his form during his loan spell with OGC Nice in Ligue 1.
The 23-year-old forward, who remains under contract with Eintracht Frankfurt until June 2030, returned to French football during the 2026 winter transfer window and has since re-established himself in familiar surroundings.
Although a permanent move to Nice currently appears unlikely, the possibility of the striker remaining in Ligue 1 next season has not been ruled out.
According to Media Foot, RC Lens are exploring the prospect of bringing Wahi back despite his difficult 2023/24 campaign.
Lens, who finished second in the league this season and secured qualification for the Champions League, are understood to be assessing reinforcements capable of strengthening their squad ahead of a demanding campaign.
The potential return of the Ivorian international is reportedly among the options being discussed internally.
Interest in Wahi is not limited to France. Reports suggest that two Portuguese clubs are also following his situation closely.
Among them is Sporting CP, a club that has been active in the transfer market in recent months.
The identity of the second Portuguese side has not been disclosed, although it is believed that preliminary steps toward a possible transfer have already begun.
In Turkey, Beşiktaş J.K. are also monitoring developments surrounding the striker ahead of the summer transfer window.
Frankfurt are reportedly open to allowing Wahi to leave despite his long-term contract, but the Bundesliga side are said to be targeting a fee of up to €25 million for his departure.
Wahi’s performances this season have helped keep his profile active in the European market.
He featured in 14 matches for Frankfurt, recording one goal and three assists, before producing stronger numbers during his spell at Nice.
In 17 appearances for the French club, the Ivorian forward scored seven goals and supplied two assists, underlining the improvement in form that has reignited interest in his future.
According to Transfermarkt, Wahi currently holds an estimated market value of €12 million. Reports also indicate that he earns an annual salary of €1,820,000.
