The future of Al-Ahly’s first-team winger, Ahmed Abdelkader, remains shrouded in uncertainty, as the club deliberates on whether he will continue with the team or depart during the ongoing winter transfer window.
Ahmed Abdelkader has been excluded from the plans of the team’s head coach, Marcel Koller, in recent times.
He did not participate in the FIFA Club World Cup in Saudi Arabia nor the Egyptian Super Cup in the United Arab Emirates.
According to an insider at Al-Ahly, the player received an offer from the Qatari club Al-Wakrah, but it was rejected due to the inadequacy of the financial terms.
Additionally, a loan offer from Smouha SC was turned down for similar reasons.
The source further added that Al-Ahly’s management and the football department are currently awaiting additional offers for Ahmed Abdelkader.
If no suitable offers are received, the decision might be to retain the player and reject his departure.
