Rennes join race for Nigerian teenager Zadok Yohanna
Stade Rennais have reportedly stepped up their interest in Nigerian teenager Zadok Yohanna, with the French club closely monitoring the AIK Fotboll forward ahead of the summer transfer window.
According to Swedish outlet Expressen, Rennes officials have carried out several scouting missions in recent months as they continue to follow the development of the 18-year-old attacker.
The Breton club are believed to be preparing for a busy transfer period and have identified Yohanna as one of the emerging talents attracting attention across Europe.
The young Nigerian has enjoyed an impressive campaign with AIK Fotboll, quickly establishing himself as one of the most closely watched attacking prospects on the continent.
Despite his age, Yohanna has already delivered strong numbers this season. In 12 appearances, the left-footed forward has scored five goals and registered four assists, performances that have significantly increased interest in his future.
Rennes, however, are far from alone in the pursuit of the teenager.
Several major European clubs are also reportedly monitoring the striker’s situation, including Real Madrid, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig, Tottenham and Ajax Amsterdam.
The growing list of interested clubs highlights the level of competition Rennes could face if they decide to intensify negotiations for the Nigerian prospect during the summer window.
Yohanna remains under contract with AIK Fotboll until December 2029, placing the Swedish club in a strong position regarding any future transfer discussions.
His current market valuation is estimated at around €500,000, although that figure could rise rapidly should he continue producing consistent performances over the coming months.
As Rennes continue planning for next season, attention will also remain on domestic matters, with the French club preparing for their final Ligue 1 fixture against Marseille on matchday 34.
