Ivorian striker Elye Wahi targeted again by Beşiktaş ahead of summer move
Beşiktaş have renewed their interest in Ivorian striker Elye Wahi as the forward edges closer to a likely summer departure from Eintracht Frankfurt.
The 23-year-old, currently on loan at OGC Nice, is not expected to remain with the French club beyond the end of the season.
A return to Frankfurt also appears unlikely, with the Bundesliga side understood to be planning a sale during the upcoming transfer window.
Amid this uncertainty, Turkey has emerged as a potential destination for the Montpellier-trained forward.
According to Turkish newspaper Sabah, Wahi has been identified as one of the attacking options Beşiktaş are considering as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of next season.
The Istanbul-based club had previously shown interest in the striker during the winter transfer window and have continued to monitor his progress in Ligue 1.
His performances in the second half of the campaign, where he has registered seven goals and two assists, have reportedly reinforced their desire to pursue a deal.
Beşiktaş are now said to be weighing up a renewed approach, with the possibility of reopening discussions in the summer.
However, securing Wahi’s signature is expected to prove challenging.
The Black Eagles are likely to face strong competition from other clubs, some of whom have already made formal offers for the player.
This growing interest could drive up the price and complicate negotiations.
Eintracht Frankfurt, who hold Wahi’s contract until June 2030, are aiming to maximise their return and are reportedly seeking a fee of up to €25 million.
Such a valuation represents a significant financial commitment and could test Beşiktaş’s ability to complete the transfer.
Despite these hurdles, Wahi’s situation remains one to watch as the transfer window approaches.
With his future at both Nice and Frankfurt appearing uncertain, the coming weeks are expected to be decisive in determining his next destination.
The striker currently earns an annual salary of €1,820,000, while his market value is estimated at €12 million, according to Transfermarkt.
