Inter Milan rekindle interest in Moussa Diaby

Saudi Pro League giants Al Ittihad have reportedly slapped a €30 million price valuation on France international of Malian descent Moussa Diaby, with Inter Milan emerging as candidate for his services.

Africasoccer.com understands Inter Milan have reopened talks and made fresh contact with Al-Ittihad to explore a possible transfer for the 26-year-old French winger. It is understood that this is not the first time the Serie A giants have attempted to sign Diaby, having previously shown interest without reaching an agreement.

Al-Ittihad, however, are not prepared to let the winger leave cheaply. The Saudi club are demanding at least €30 million before considering sanctioning any move away from the club.

Diaby joined Al-Ittihad from Aston Villa FC in 2024 in a blockbuster €60 million deal, and remains under contract until 2029. Despite the long-term commitment, his future has now become a subject of speculation following Inter’s renewed approach.

This season, the French winger has featured in 38 matches across all competitions, contributing 4 goals and 13 assists. While his numbers reflect a solid creative output, reports suggest both player and club could be open to reassessing his situation depending on the right offer.

Currently, Transfermarkt values Diaby at around €28 million, slightly below Al-Ittihad’s asking price, setting up a potential negotiation gap between the two clubs.

For Inter Milan, Diaby is seen as a dynamic attacking option capable of adding pace, width, and creativity to their system as they continue to strengthen their squad for future campaigns. For Al-Ittihad, the decision will balance sporting ambition with financial considerations, as they look to protect one of their key attacking assets.

With the summer transfer window approaching, Diaby’s situation is expected to remain one to watch closely as talks between the two clubs potentially develop.
