Makelele credits Kompany for unlocking Olise’s rise at Bayern Munich

Claude Makelele has credited Vincent Kompany with playing a decisive role in the rapid development of Michael Olise at Bayern Munich, describing the coach’s influence as central to the player’s growing authority on the pitch.

Olise, who has quickly established himself as one of Bayern’s standout performers this season, has impressed with his creativity, composure and ability to dictate attacking phases in a demanding environment.

“Kompany helped him understand how good he is. I’m rooting for him; he’s an incredible player, reminiscent of the young players at Barcelona: you might not see him for ten minutes, but then he hits you in transition.”
