Karim Adeyemi remains sidelined for Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund will face SC Freiburg without winger Karim Adeyemi, as manager Niko Kovac confirmed during Friday’s press conference that the 24-year-old remains unavailable for selection.

The player continues to be absent from team training due to an ongoing muscular issue.

Kovač addressed the situation by stating “the problems are not resolved” and emphasized that recovery will require more time. This marks Adeyemi’s first muscular injury since Kovac took charge of the squad, reportedly involving a muscle fiber tear according to media sources. The medical staff are adopting a cautious approach to his rehabilitation, recognizing the difficulty in providing precise timelines for such injuries and prioritizing the player’s confidence in his physical condition.

Despite the setback, Kovac expressed optimism about a potential return after the Freiburg fixture. “I am convinced that he will be back after Freiburg, perhaps after Gladbach,” the coach indicated when outlining a tentative comeback schedule.

This absence represents Adeyemi’s third consecutive match out of action, following a yellow card suspension against Leverkusen and an injury-related absence against Hoffenheim.
