Desailly reflects on Kylian Mbappe’s challenging dream move to Real Madrid

Real Madrid head coach Alvaro Arbeloa has dismissed any suggestion of tension with Kylian Mbappe, insisting internal focus remains firmly on the club’s crucial final stretch of the season.

Speculation had surfaced earlier this week after Mbappe appeared to endorse a social media post praising the influence of Jose Mourinho, who has been loosely linked with the managerial position at the Santiago Bernabéu.

The online interaction prompted debate over dressing room dynamics and potential unrest, but Arbeloa moved quickly to shut down any such narrative.

Speaking ahead of Friday’s La Liga fixture against Real Betis, the Madrid boss made it clear he sees no issue in the matter.

“It doesn’t bother me that Mbappé likes posts from either Mourinho or Julia Roberts,” he said, brushing aside the speculation with a note of calm authority.

Arbeloa instead redirected attention to the broader objective confronting his side. With six matches remaining, Real Madrid are entering a defining phase of their campaign, where consistency and collective discipline will be essential.

The coach stressed that his priorities lie squarely with team performance rather than external noise surrounding his position.

“My goal is for Real Madrid to win every time they play. Not my position,” Arbeloa added, underlining his commitment to results over personal security.

He also revealed that he has delivered a clear message within the dressing room, urging players to maintain total concentration on their responsibilities during this decisive period.

Mbappe, one of the team’s most influential figures, remains central to Madrid’s ambitions as they push to close the season strongly.
