Zamalek SC have put contract talks with Ahmed Fatouh and Hossam Abdel-Maguid on hold as the club prioritises its ongoing domestic and continental campaigns.

Both players remain under contract with the Cairo giants until the summer of 2027, but their long-term futures have attracted attention, particularly in Abdel-Maguid’s case, with reports linking the defender to interest from European clubs ahead of the next transfer window following his recent performances.

According to sources, negotiations with the pair are currently on hold, with the club focused on maintaining stability during a decisive phase of the season.

The sources add that formal renewal talks are expected to resume after the campaign concludes, and stressed that no official offers have yet been received for either player.

On the pitch, Zamalek are preparing for a crucial league encounter against Pyramids FC on Thursday in the third round of the championship stage of the 2025/26 season.

The White Castle currently sits top of the table with 46 points, holding a narrow two-point lead over both Pyramids and Al Ahly.

In continental action, Zamalek are also preparing for a major challenge in the CAF Confederation Cup final against Algeria’s USM Alger.

The Egyptian side booked their place after eliminating CR Belouizdad in the semi-finals. The first leg is set for May 9 in Algeria, with the return fixture scheduled for May 16 at Cairo Stadium.
