Wydad promote Abdel Noussir to first-team staff in strategic move
Wydad Casablanca have moved to strengthen their technical setup by promoting former player Abdel Latif Noussir to the first-team staff.
Noussir, who has been working with the club’s youth team, was present during Monday’s training session and is now set to take on the role of assistant coach under Patrice Carteron, according to reports.
The decision comes as recognition of Noussir’s impressive work at youth level, where his results and style of play have earned praise from supporters.
His promotion reflects the club’s intention to reward internal development while reinforcing the senior setup with familiar figures.
Under the leadership of club president Hicham Ait Mana, Wydad are aiming to steady their campaign during a difficult period marked by inconsistent performances.
Recent setbacks, including their exit from the CAF Confederation Cup, the departure of former coach Mohamed Amine Benhachem, and dropped points in the Botola Pro title race, have increased pressure on the team.
With key players such as Hakim Ziyech in the squad, the club will be hoping that Noussir’s familiarity with Wydad’s identity can help spark a turnaround in form.
