RS Berkane head coach Moïne Chaâbani has acknowledged the scale of the challenge facing his side as they prepare for the second leg of their CAF Champions League semi-final against AS FAR on Saturday night.

The Moroccan giants trail 2-0 on aggregate after last weekend’s first-leg defeat in Rabat, leaving them with a mountain to climb when the two sides meet again at the municipal stadium.

Despite the deficit, Chaâbani remains confident his team can mount a response and keep their continental dream alive.

“We are going to play a decisive match, where one of the two teams will leave the competition. AS FAR has shown very good things in the Champions League, it is an experienced, stable and difficult team to maneuver,” the coach said, as per Pan Africa Football.

“It will be an open and hard-fought match. We will do everything to qualify. We know the task is difficult, but we have what it takes to compete against a quality opponent with top-level players.

Chaâbani added that his side has worked intensively to reset mentally and physically ahead of the decisive encounter.

“We’ll be playing against the clock and against the scoreline. We’ve prepared for this match all week, both physically and mentally.

“The goal was to free ourselves from the burden of the first-leg result. The players are ready to give everything to secure qualification.”
