Besiktas target Andre Onana

Turkish outfit Beşiktaş have set sights on securing the services of experienced Cameroonian goalkeeper André Onana ahead of the new season.

The Istanbul-based side are seriously pursuing the 30-year-old shot-stopper, who is currently on loan from Manchester United to Trabzonspor.

Beşiktaş, known as the “Black Eagles,” reportedly view Onana as a top-tier goalkeeper capable of bringing stability and leadership to their defensive line. The club’s hierarchy is said to be preparing an attractive personal contract in a bid to convince the Cameroonian international to make the switch to Vodafone Park.

Onana’s situation has opened the door for such a move. Manchester United are understood to be open to a permanent transfer, signaling a willingness to part ways with the goalkeeper should a suitable offer arrive. This stance has intensified interest from potential suitors, with Beşiktaş now emerging as one of the most determined contenders.

Currently plying his trade at Trabzonspor, Onana has experienced a mixed campaign. In 25 appearances this season, he has conceded 34 goals while registering six clean sheets—numbers that reflect both his involvement and the defensive challenges faced by his side.

Despite these statistics, his reputation as a high-quality goalkeeper remains intact. Known for his composure on the ball, reflex saves, and ability to build play from the back, Onana continues to attract admiration across Europe.

With his market value estimated at around €12 million, the potential deal represents a relatively affordable opportunity for a club seeking proven quality between the posts.

As the transfer window approaches, all eyes will be on whether Beşiktaş can turn their interest into a concrete agreement—and whether Onana is ready to embark on a new chapter in his career within the Turkish Süper Lig.
