The board of directors of Zamalek, led by President Hussein Labib, has successfully reached an agreement with Tanta Club to secure the services of Mohamed Atef, the first-team winger of the club from the Western Capital.
This marks a significant development in the ongoing winter transfer window.
A source, speaking exclusively to “Al-Watan Sport,” clarified that the Zamalek board had reached an understanding with Tanta officials to finalize the deal and bring Mohamed Atef, the winger from the Al-Sayed Al-Badawi team, to the ranks of the White Knights.
The agreement involves Tanta receiving a transfer fee of 4.5 million Egyptian pounds.
The source further highlighted that an agreement was reached on a clause within Mohamed Atef’s contract, ensuring that Tanta would receive a 20% share of any future transfer fee if the player is sold to another club.
A Tanta Club delegation is set to arrive at Zamalek’s headquarters, accompanying the player upon his return from Faiyum after their victory over Misr El-Maqasa.
The purpose of the visit is to formalize the contract, sign official documents, and exchange the necessary paperwork, including the player’s release.
Zamalek Pursues Multiple Signings
In the coming hours, Zamalek officials are actively seeking to conclude several more deals before the closure of the current winter transfer window.
This follows the resolution of the administration’s commitment to settling all financial obligations and the lifting of the registration ban, a decision made by the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA).
