Ghanaian striker Jonathan Sowah has mutually terminated his contract with Tanzanian giants Simba SC, bringing an abrupt end to his stint with the club.

The 27-year-old forward, formerly of Danbort FC, had recently faced disciplinary action alongside teammate Alhasane Kante.

The duo were handed five-match bans and fined following their conduct during a Tanzanian Premier League clash against Azam FC on December 7, 2025, at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.

Sowah’s situation further deteriorated after he was separately sanctioned by Simba over internal disciplinary concerns.

The club cited repeated lateness to training sessions and team meetings, issues that reportedly drew persistent concern from both the technical bench and management. He was subsequently given five days to respond to the allegations.

However, sources close to the player indicate that Sowah was dissatisfied with the accusations and had been pushing for an exit.

His departure has now been confirmed, with both parties agreeing to part ways.

Sowah joined Simba from Singida Black Stars, having previously featured for Medeama SC in Ghana and Al Nasr in Libya. He has also earned three caps for Ghana’s senior national team, the Black Stars.
