Raja Casablanca head coach Fadlu Davids is reportedly working behind the scenes on new tactical solutions as his side seek to maintain their position at the top of the Botola Pro standings.

After 15 matches, Raja sit narrowly ahead of the chasing pack, with AS FAR Rabat and Wydad Casablanca both just a point behind in second and third place respectively.

Wydad, in particular, missed a chance to move to the summit after a narrow 1-0 defeat to FUS Rabat on Friday night.

Despite their strong position, Raja’s attacking output has lagged behind their closest rivals. Davids’ team have scored 17 goals so far this season, significantly fewer than Wydad’s 25 from 13 matches — the highest tally in Morocco’s top flight.

According to reports from LeSiteSportInfo, the South African tactician has been focusing on new attacking combinations during the international break in a bid to sharpen his side’s cutting edge.

Raja currently rank as the sixth-highest scorers in the league, but there is optimism surrounding the return of Adam Al-Nafati, who has contributed four goals in 10 appearances this season and could provide a timely boost.

Davids is also expected to organise another training camp to fine-tune preparations ahead of the resumption of domestic action, with the title race expected to intensify as rival teams play their outstanding fixtures.

With AS FAR and Wydad still having games in hand, Raja’s position at the top could be short-lived before matchday 16 is completed, setting up a tense and closely contested run-in.
