Wydad AC head coach unhappy with defeat to FUS Rabat

Wydad Athletic Club head coach Patrice Carteron is planning to make big changes at the club following their defeat to FUS Rabat in the Moroccan Botola Pro 1.

Wydad Athletic Club will host Difaa El Jadida tomorrow at 8 pm at the Mohammed V Complex in a postponed 11th-round fixture of the National Professional Championship.

Following a disappointing 1-0 loss to Fath Union Sport last Friday at Moulay Hassan Stadium, coach Patrice Carteron is expected to make several personnel changes, signalling a tactical shake-up for the team.

Carteron Critiques Player Performance

The French tactician openly expressed concerns over the performance and fitness levels of some squad members, noting that “half of the players were unable to complete the training sessions fully due to physical exhaustion.”

The defeat against Fath Rabat marked Carteron’s first loss with the club, adding pressure to improve results in upcoming matches.

League Implications and Standings

This setback was Wydad’s second defeat of the season, following an earlier loss to the Royal Army team. While Fath Union Sport moved up to eighth place with 18 points, Wydad Athletic Club remains in second with 29 points, highlighting the need for a swift recovery to maintain their title ambitions.

Revolution on the Horizon

Carteron’s anticipated adjustments for the match against Difaa El Jadida indicate a proactive approach to reinvigorate the squad and address shortcomings, with the French coach aiming to restore confidence and regain momentum in the league.
