Liverpool have received a significant lift ahead of their Emirates FA Cup quarter-final showdown with Manchester City, with Mohamed Salah expected to return from injury.

Head coach Arne Slot confirmed on Friday that the Egyptian forward has resumed training and is available for selection, having missed the defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion due to a muscle issue that also ruled him out of international duty.

“He trained with us yesterday, he will train with us today and is available for the game tomorrow,” Slot said, expressing confidence in the forward’s recovery.

Slot also pointed to Salah’s professionalism and physical discipline as key factors in his swift return.

“The moment he got injured, there were doubts about City, but he told me he would be ready. He does so much for his body and recovers very fast,” Slot added.

The fixture could mark Salah’s first appearance since announcing plans to leave Liverpool at the end of the season, bringing an emotional backdrop to his nine-year spell at Anfield.

With one of their most influential players back in contention, Liverpool head into Saturday’s high-stakes clash with renewed attacking strength as they face Manchester City for a place in the semi-finals.
