Al Ahly midfielder Aliou Dieng is reportedly on the verge of a move to Spain after agreeing terms with La Liga side Valencia CF ahead of the new season.

The Mali international, who joined the Egyptian giants in July 2019, spent the 2024/25 campaign on loan at Saudi Arabian club Al-Kholood after falling out of favour.

He returned to Al Ahly in May 2025 and has since re-established himself, making 31 appearances across all competitions this season.

Despite his resurgence, questions remained over his long-term future, with his current contract set to expire in June 2026 and no renewal agreed.

Since January, Dieng has been eligible to enter into pre-contract discussions with other clubs.

According to Marca, the 27-year-old has now electronically signed a three-year deal with Valencia, with the transfer expected to be completed on a free basis.

The Spanish club are said to have tracked him for some time and believe his physicality will add strength and balance to their midfield.
