Salah’s decision, announced on Tuesday night without revealing his next club, shocked many fans and teammates who have shared in his historic journey.
Robertson posted a picture with Salah on Instagram and wrote: “Mohamed, thank you”. He reflected on their time together, saying they had lived “nine of the best years of our lives” filled with special memories on and off the pitch. The Scottish defender praised Salah’s rise to become “the best at what you do” and “one of the best to ever have worn the Liverpool shirt,” calling it a privilege to witness and share that journey.
Robertson went on to highlight Salah’s “second to none” mentality, stressing how he pushed himself every day and demanded more from everyone around him.
He added that while sharing the pitch with him had been a pleasure, he was even prouder to call him a friend, signing off by declaring that Salah deserves a farewell worthy of his status as “you deserve a send off that reflects your status at LFC- the greatest”.
