Morocco’s Atlas Lions ranked as the 15th most valuable national team in the world

Morocco has been ranked among the world’s most valuable national football teams, according to Transfermarkt.

The Atlas Lions claim the 15th spot globally, with a squad valued at $432 million across 28 players, making them the only Arab nation featured in the top 20. In Africa, Morocco sits third, behind Senegal, 12th worldwide at $459.8 million, and Côte d’Ivoire, ranked 14th at $448.9 million.

Achraf Hakimi, the Paris Saint‑Germain defender, stands out as Morocco’s most valuable player, with an estimated worth of $80 million.

The timing of the recognition comes on the heels of Morocco being officially declared champions of the Africa Cup of Nations after Senegal forfeited a match, elevating the team’s profile on the international stage.

Looking ahead to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Morocco is set to face Brazil, Haiti, and Scotland in the group stage.

As part of their preparations, the team will play two friendlies against Ecuador on March 27 and Paraguay on March 31. These matches will allow newly appointed coach Mohamed Ouahbi to fine-tune the squad and build momentum ahead of the global tournament.
