Zambia international Kings Kangwa scored as Panathinaikos began their 2026/27 Greek Super League campaign with a 3-1 victory over Kifisia on Thursday.

The midfielder started the Round 1 encounter and played a key role as Panathinaikos secured all three points in an entertaining contest.

Kangwa breaks deadlock for Panathinaikos

Kangwa opened the scoring in the 53rd minute, putting Panathinaikos in front after a goalless first half.

The Zambian’s goal gave his side the advantage, but Kifisia responded and eventually found an equaliser through Dimitrios Theodoridis in the 74th minute.

Panathinaikos regain control

Panathinaikos quickly restored their lead seven minutes later when Vicente Taborda scored in the 81st minute.

Kifisia were unable to respond again, and Panathinaikos sealed the victory deep into stoppage time.

Elmin Rastoder scored in the 90+1st minute to make it 3-1 and confirm a winning start for Panathinaikos.

Kangwa’s goal and overall contribution made him one of the key figures as the Greek giants opened their league campaign with a valuable three points.
