Slot confirms Alexander Isak return in time for PSG Champions League tie
Liverpool manager Arne Slot has confirmed that record-signing Alexander Isak is set to return to full fitness following the international break, making him available for the club’s highly anticipated Champions League quarter-final against Paris Saint-Germain.
The Swedish international of Eritrean descent has been sidelined since December 2025 after suffering a fractured fibula, an injury that halted a promising start to his career at Anfield following a British-record £125 million move from Newcastle United.
After three months of intensive rehabilitation, Slot revealed that the striker has resumed running on the grass at the AXA Training Centre and is expected to integrate into full team training over the coming fortnight.
While Isak will remain on Merseyside during the international window to finalize his recovery – opting out of Sweden’s March fixtures – his availability provides a massive tactical boost for the Reds.
Liverpool are scheduled to travel to the Parc des Princes for the first leg on April 8, with the return leg at Anfield on April 14.
Although he is unlikely to feature in the FA Cup quarter-final against Manchester City on April 3, his presence on the bench for the European ties offers Slot a world-class attacking option.
Prior to his injury, Isak had netted three goals in 17 appearances. His return comes at a critical juncture for the club that is chasing Champions League football for next season.
