Zinedine Zidane set for France job after agreement with FFF

Former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane is reportedly on the verge of becoming the next head coach of the France national football team after reaching a verbal agreement with the French Football Federation (FFF).

According to French outlet Le Parisien, the global football icon, who has Algerian roots, will take over from Didier Deschamps when his contract with France expires after the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Zidane’s appointment would mark a new chapter for Les Bleus following Deschamps’ extended spell in charge.

The development comes shortly after FFF president Philippe Diallo revealed that a decision had already been made regarding the identity of France’s next manager. Despite reports of an agreement, an official confirmation is not expected imminently.

The federation is believed to be keen on maintaining stability within the current setup as France prepares for the World Cup in the United States, allowing Deschamps to operate without distraction as he aims to guide the team back to the summit of world football.

At 53, Zidane is poised to take on his first national team role, returning to the very side where he cemented his legendary status as a player.

Renowned for his success with Real Madrid CF, where he guided the club to three consecutive UEFA Champions League titles, Zidane now appears ready to bring his winning pedigree to the international stage.
