Moroccan FA mutually part ways with Olympic and home-based team coach Tarik Sektioui
The Royal Moroccan Football Federation have mutually parted ways with coach Tarik Sektioui following the closure of his tenure, overseeing the Olympic and home-based teams at large.
The 48-year-old tacti9cian, who hold UEFA Pro License leaves after 18 months spell with Morocco’s local and Olympic teams.
“The Royal Moroccan Football Federation announces that it has mutually agreed to part ways with Mr. Tarik Sektioui, following his tenure overseeing the national teams (Olympic team, local team, and reserve team)”
“The Federation extends its sincere thanks and appreciation to Mr. Tarik Sektioui for the efforts he made and the results he achieved during his time in charge, wishing him success in his future professional career” a statement from the Moroccan FA reads.
His departure follows a period of notable results with Morocco’s youth teams. Sektioui led the local national team to an Arab Cup title in 2025 and guided the under-23 squad to a bronze medal at the Paris Olympic Games in 2024.
Meanwhile, Sektioui has swiftly taken over as the new head coach of the Oman national team, replacing seasoned trainer Carlos Queiroz.
His move to Oman represents his first opportunity to lead a senior national team outside Morocco, opening a new chapter in his coaching journey.
